The First International Conference on Smart, Sustainable & Green Shipbuilding 2026 (SSGS 2026) will provide a dedicated international forum for researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, and technology providers to address the transformation of shipbuilding towards digitalisation, sustainability, and decarbonisation, supporting the European Union’s priorities for a sustainable and competitive shipping industry through Horizon Europe initiatives, including ECOShipYard and CirclesOfLife.

SSGS 2026 builds on a series of related joint European events in the field of smart and sustainable shipbuilding, including:

• the ESY & CirclesOfLife Joint Workshop, Hamburg (2024)
• the Green Shipping Industry Day, Brussels (2025)
• the Smart, Sustainable & Green Shipbuilding 2026 High-Level Speakers Event, Posidonia (2026)

In this context, SSGS 2026 at the University of Strathclyde continues and expands this dialogue through a dedicated international conference.
